1. The Little Man of Disney Land: A Change of Luck

My new favorite book to read with Ronia is the Little Man of Disney Land: A Change of Luck. Apparently this is a sequel to the original story published in 1955. I need to find that original, because we LOVE Patrick Begorra and all the adventures he has throughout Disney. If your little one loves the Disney characters and stories, they will fall in love with this book. I also count it as a St. Patricks Day story, because of Patrick.

2. Elmo’s Lucky Day by Andrea Posner-Sanchez

Elmo’s Lucky Day is a pretty basic story about Elmo and his friends celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. It’s not my favorite, but Ronia loves all the Sesame Street characters, especially Abby Cadabby. If your little one is a fan, then they will enjoy this story.

3. Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert

I came across Planting a Rainbow in the gardening section of a local bookstore. It’s very similar in style to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. A little girl and her mom plant a rainbow of flowers each year to enjoy. It’s very sweet and useful when learning colors.

4. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Curious George by H.A. Rey

This Curious George story talks about various St. Patrick’s Day traditions, including the four leaf clover. The man in the yellow hat even gets his traditional yellow outfit dyed green! If your little one loves Curious George, they will like this St. Patricks Day tale.

5. Peppa Loves St. Patricks Day

Peppa and her family take a ferry ride to visit Ireland during St. Patricks Day. Then Peppa saves the festival with instruments and they play in muddy puddles. It’s a pretty typical Peppa story, but with a St. Patrick’s Day spin! The cover is also glittery, which Ronia finds very cool.

6. Little Blue Truck’s Springtime by Alice Schertle

Enjoy a Springtime drive with Little Blue Truck as he visits all the baby animals on the farm. This book is great for learning animal names and sounds. It’s also a lift-a-flap, which is fun and interactive.

7. The Berenstain Bears St. Patrick’s Day by Mike Berenstain

The next in our list of Spring books is a class, Berestain Bears. This sweet little tale does a bear-like spin on classic Irish traditions. It is a bit of a longer read, but engaging and funny.

8. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

One of Ronia’s favorite books remains The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I’m not sure if it’s the little holes through the pages as the caterpillar eats through all kinds of food or the fact that he turns into a butterfly, but she loves it.

9. Hello World: Garden Time by Jill McDonald

We are planning to start a little garden this Spring, so I wanted to introduce Ronia to the idea. She loves naming all the vegetables. The Hello World books are a lot like an I Spy book, because there is so much to look at on every page.

10. Mrs. Peanuckle’s Flower Alphabet by Mrs. Peanuckle

We love to read the Mrs. Peanuckle books, because the illustrations are so colorful, but also because they are so educational. We are going to plant several types of flowers this Spring, so I wanted to introduce Ronia to the different types and find out her favorites. So far she likes them all.

11. Little Owl’s Day by Divya Srinivasan

Okay, so technically this book is about any day with Little Owl. However, the illustrations scream Spring, so I decided to include it in the list. In this sweet tale, Little Owl explores the world during the daytime, because he can’t get to sleep. It is interesting to talk about all the things owl misses, because he is nocturnal.
