Ronia Recommends: 5 Valentine Board Books for Your Baby

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so I took the liberty of refreshing Ronia’s book corner for the season. My husband was ready for the Christmas books to be put away, though I have to admit I was not. Below is our latest in the series, Ronia Recommends: 5 Valentine Board Books for Your Baby. If you have other Valentine favorites to add to the list, please feel free to contact me and let me know. We are suckers for a good book.

Ronia Recommends: 5 Valentine Board Books for Your Baby

1. You’re My Little Cuddle Bug by Nicola Edwards

This series of books are some of my favorites to read to Ronia. They are filled with wonderful affirmations, which I find so important. I want my daughter to know how much she is loved, how smart she is and how brave. Sometimes it’s easy to forget to do those type of affirmations, so books like this one are a good reminder.

2. Love Monster by Rachel Bright

Love Monster is one of the sweetest books I have had the pleasure of reading to Ronia. Some of you know how much she loves Monsters Inc, so this book was a good choice for her. It follows the journey of a monster looking for someone like him whom he can love. Such a sweet valentine book choice.

3. I Love You, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt

I Love You Stinky Face was a new find for me this Valentine season. It’s really creative and cute. The illustrations might be a bit advanced for Ronia, but she seems to like it anyway. It’s about a little boy asking his mama about all sorts of scenarios to see if she would still love him. For instance, would she still love him if he was a smelly skunk called Stinky Face?

4. Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse! by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond

If you or your kids are fans of the Give a Mouse a Cookie books, then this is a perfect valentine book for you! All the characters from that series play a part in celebrating Valentine’s Day together. It’s very nostalgic for me to read.

5. Llama Llama I Love You by Anna Dewdney

You can’t have a holiday book haul without Llama Llama. These books are so sweet and do such a good job of introducing traditions with cute rhymes. We love Llama Llama.

6. Love Bug, Illustrated by Jess Moorehouse

Funnily enough, Love Bug might be my favorite of Ronia Recommends: 5 Valentine Board Books for Your Baby. It’s a simple book and an easy read, but there’s something about it that makes me simple. Much like Love Monster, Love Bug is the tale of a bug looking for another bug to hug. It also has this squishy sensory heart throughout the pages, which Ronia loves.

7. Little Blue Truck’s Valentine by Alice Schertle and Jill McElmurry

The Little Blue Truck books are excellent for practicing animal sounds and names. Ronia has so far learned to growl like a lion and hoot like a monkey. Watching her learn is one of my favorite hobbies. In this version of Little Blue Truck he is handing out unique Valentines to all of his friends.

8. I Love You All Ways by Marianne Richmond

I Love You All Ways is another affirmation book about how much you love your baby no matter what. You can never say I love you too many times. It’s so important for our children to hear.
