10 Toys Your 2 Year Old Will Love

We recently decluttered our toddler’s play room and I was surprised at how many of her toys she had simply outgrown. My baby is turning into a little girl and it makes me more emotional than I care to admit. Anyway, I thought it would be helpful if I shared some of her new favorites. If your toddler is outgrowing their baby toys then this post is for you. Below is a list of 10 Toys Your 2 Year Old Will Love.

1. Wooden Tea Set

My sister got Ronia this sweet little tea set for her birthday and I have to say it might be her favorite toy. She plays with this tea set every day it is out and loves to serve tea to her stuffed animals and friends. The little cups are perfect for her tiny hands and they are easy to clean.

2. Ikea Play Kitchen

We transformed an Ikea kitchen for Ronia’s birthday, and it is one of the smartest things I could have done. She LOVES her kitchen. Every day she’s cooking food and pretend washing her hands or dishes. It’s the cutest thing. To learn more about how we made the kitchen, read How to Transform a Simple Ikea Play Kitchen.

3. Crochet Winnie the Pooh Characters

Another gift for my daughters birthday was from my mom. She got her a full set of crocheted Winnie the Pooh characters, and Ronia fell in love. If your little one adores Winnie the Pooh, they will love these crocheted creatures. They are small, well made and perfect for any toddler.

4. Play Cleaning Set

This might just pertain to my own toddler, but Ronia loves to clean. It might be because her mama is a bit of a cleaning nut sometimes. Regardless, my daughter loves to get out her own cleaning supplies when I clean the house so she can “help.” It’s precious.

5. Dress-Up Clothes

The next in our list of 10 Toys Your 2 Year Old Will Love are dress-up clothes. Now this is technically not a toy, but I count it in her play things. Our daughter is the girliest girl you’ve ever met. She loves pink, dressing in pretty dresses and Fancy Nancy. So you can usually find her in one of her princess dresses. Or, around Halloween time she was constantly dressed as a pumpkin. True story.

6. Play Makeup

For Valentine’s Day I decided to get Ronia her own play makeup, because she was always getting into mine. She loves to do her own makeup and hair and pretend to do others as well. It’s so fun to watch her imagination grow.

7. Musical Instruments

Speaking of imagination, my toddler also enjoys pretending she is a ten person band. Now musical instruments can be loud and disruptive, but for me it’s worth it to encourage her love of the arts.

8. Play-Doh

Speaking of the arts, another toy my toddler loves is Play-Doh. She’s still a little unpredictable as to if she will try and eat some or not, so she is supervise when she plays with play-doh or kinetic sand. It’s great for a sensory activity and you can make so many things with play-doh!

9. Basketball Hoop

My husband had never seen Space Jam, so we watched it as a family. My daughter wasn’t a huge fan of the movie, apart from any scene with Michael Jordan playing ball. She started running around and pretending to play. It was painfully adorable, so I looked on Facebook marketplace that night and found her a hoop. She loves to play, especially with her dad.

10. Mess-Free Markers or Water Wows

The last item on my list of 10 Toys Your 2 Year Old Will Love is technically two items, but they fall under the same category. Mess-Free Markers and Water Wows are a new staple in our diaper bag. They are great for keeping your toddler entertained in the car, at a restaurant or even at a theme park. I highly recommend!
