5 New Fall Books to Read with Your Toddler

Autumn is here, and although it doesn’t entirely feel like it in Kansas, we am pretending that is does. A new season means a new book rotation, so I went ahead and got out our few fall books. We have a lot of Halloween and Thanksgiving books, but not many for just all. Read below to see our favorite 5 New Fall Books to Read with Your Toddler.

1. Because of an Acorn by Lola Schaefer

Our latest addition is Because of an Acorn. It’s a simple, but wonderful book about the journey of an acorn and the circle of life. That sounds cheesy, but it’s so crazy to think of the impact an acorn can make on the world.

2. Pumpkin Day at the Zoo by Susan Meissner

Pumpkin Day at the Zoo is a sweet book about a day when all the animals in the zoo are given pumpkins to eat and play with. Our local zoos also have pumpkin day, so it was fun to talk about that with Ronia.

3. A Pumpkin Prayer by Amy Parker

We found A Pumpkin Prayer at Hobby Lobby this week, and I thought it would be a good addition to our fall books. It’s just a nice prayer about all the things we are thankful for in the fall.

4. Fancy Nancy and the Fall Foliage by Jane O’Connor

Fancy Nancy is a very big deal in our house. Nancy uses big words (because she is fancy, obviously) and then explains what they mean. Everything she does has extra flare, including raking the leaves. And this book comes with stickers, which is also a big deal to my toddler.

5. Miss Maple’s Seeds by Eliza Wheeler

The last book on our list is not exactly new, but it is a favorite of mine. Miss Maple collects lost seeds and tends to them until it is time for them to go out in the world and grow. I love the illustrations and writing in this book. It’s a 10/10 for me.
