Faith,  Welcome

Scriptures to Pray Over Your Kitchen Today

Last week I was remembering all the scriptures we wrote on the foundation and frame of our home when it was being built. I realized that since the build, I really haven’t spent much time praying over our home. So, in the spirit of surrendering this space to Jesus, I am going to start choosing scriptures to pray over each room. Read Scriptures to Pray Over Your Kitchen Today below.

1. “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” -Psalm 34:8

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. What a blessing it is to have food to eat, clean water and a place to cook.

2. that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” -Deuteronomy 8:13

It’s important to remember that although we may need food to live, we need God more. Making meals is an excellent time to reconnect with our Heavenly Father.

3. “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Washing dishes is my least favorite chore on the planet, but I can do it to the glory of God.

4. “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” – Colossians 3:23

Similarly to our last verse, we should be doing everything for the Lord. That includes what we eat. Are we honoring God by taking care of the bodies He gave us?

5. “Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.”-1 Peter 4:9

Being hospitable with a meal is an excellent way to show the love of Christ in your home.

6. “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” -John 6:35

There’s a reason Jesus chose to explain communion with bread and wine. We eat and drink every day. Each time you make a meal or sit down with your family, take a moment to remember the bread of life.
