Practical Stocking Stuffers for Your Toddler

Christmas will be here before we know it, and for some reason I always forget to buy stocking stuffers. I have trouble thinking of items other than candy and cheap toys from dollar tree. Nothing wrong with those, obviously, but I like to be a little more creative with my selections. Below is my list of Practical Stocking Stuffers for Your Toddler. Happy shopping!

1. Crayons

Ronia is very much into coloring right now. She can’t get enough of it. However, we do go through a lot of crayons because she breaks them, colors too aggressively or occasionally tries to eat one. A small box of crayons fit well into a stocking and are useful!

2. Kinetic Sand

Kinetic sand is another item of which we can never have enough. Every time we play with it a bit more goes missing. They also make little containers of kinetic sand themed after a Dino dig, which I think is really cute.

3. Small Characters

We recently purchased a set of characters from Monster’s Inc. It occurred to me after I gave them to Ronia that they would have made an excellent stocking stuffer. If your toddler loves animals, you could get some small farm animals. If they love Disney, you could try some of those.

4. Socks

I am always losing Ronia’s socks. How is it that toddlers go through so many socks?

5. Flash Cards

We found some color, shape and animal flash cards in the Target dollar spot a while back. Ronia loves to go through them and practice. Flash cards are a very practical stocking stuffer. Practical, but fun.

6. Mini Lite Brite

They make these adorable mini lite brights now. Ronia isn’t quite ready to play with one of these just yet. I’m almost sure she’d try to eat the pieces. However, it might be a good fit for your little one.

7. Bubbles

Another item we seem to never have enough of is bubbles. If your toddler loves bubbles, then you can drop a couple small bottles of them into his or her stocking.
