Small Changes We Made to Transform the Spare Bathroom

One of the rooms in our home that I’ve had the most trouble decorating is the guest bathroom. Well, technically it’s the guest bathroom as well as Ronia’s bathroom. There was just something about it that wasn’t quite right. We aren’t there yet, but these Small Changes We Made to Transform the Spare Bathroom have helped. Someday I will be able to put my finger on just what I want to do with this room, but until then please enjoy this mini-transformation.

1. Added Shelves

Okay y’all, so I decided to go with floating shelves and ultimately I am glad I did, but they were a bear to attach to the wall. Beware and take your time when installing shelves, but especially floating shelves. They look nice, but at least for me… it was a chore. If you look close you can see the extra holes in the wall I have yet to cover with paint.

2. Found Practical Shelf Decor

Like I mentioned before, this bathroom is the guest bath, but it is also Ronia’s bathroom. I wanted to be sure to keep it sort of neutral while also giving it a special touch. We keep her baby ear cleaners out in a small dish I’ve had for a long time. Then I decanted her bubble bath and added a turtle we found at a local plant nursery.

3. Changed the Rug

Ronia and I went shopping together at World Market awhile back and I showed her all the bathroom rugs we could choose from. She quiet literally hugged this one, and I have to admit that the girl has good taste!

I used rug tape on one side of the bath mat to keep it from moving anytime someone opens the door. I saw one side, because I still wanted to be able to move the rug to sweep and mop.

4. Changed the Shower Curtain

We also found this shower curtain at Target, which I thought was a lot more simple than the rainbow one we had previously. It gives hotel vibe, but in the best way and is also easy to match it we change things in the bathroom again.

5. Added Wood Pegs to Hang Towels

I found these wooden pegs on Amazon and decided to give them a try. They were also a bit a bear to install, but that might be because I am so new to house projects. Either way I think they look great!
