Holiday,  Welcome

Scripture for Your Toddler this Valentine’s Day

We decided to hang a letter board in the playroom with a verse to learn. I want to say I remember to change it every week, but I don’t. Below are a few Scripture for Your Toddler this Valentine’s Day. These are verses I’ve picked to talk about with my daughter over the next few weeks. It’s never too early to talk about the Bible and read scripture together.

1. “We love because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

I chose 1 John 4:19 as the first verse for our letter board, because I thought it was simple enough for Ronia to remember. It was also something I needed to be reminded of in this season.

2. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Obviously Ronia will not be able to repeat this entire verse back to me, but I’m hoping to talk with her about the first couple phrases and add more on as she gets older and can remember more at a time. This is an incredibly important verse, so I want to start talking about it now.

3. “Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14

We can all remember to love each other better. Sometimes I feel like the world is a pretty dark place. My hope for Ronia is that she is true to her namesake and is God’s joyful song; that she would let all that she does be done in love. Being Christ-like in our example should be something we all strive toward.
