Ronia Recommends: 8 Books for your 8 Month Old

A few months ago I gave my first list of Ronia’s favorite books. Now that she is getting older I can see her preferences changing. Some books get a little more of her attention than others. I’ve refined our list to include a few new books. Please read below Ronia Recommends: 8 Books for your 8 Month Old for our recommendations.

Ronia Recommends: 8 Books for your 8 Month Old

1. Mustache Baby by Bridget Heos

Mustache Baby is a recent addition to our library. I came across it at Barnes and Noble one day and thought it looked different. After reading through it with Ronia several times I can say it’s now one of our most favorites. It’s about a baby who is born with a mustache, but they aren’t sure if it will be a good guy mustache or a bad guy mustache. I mean, we all have bad guy mustache days, am I right?

2. Don’t Push the Button: Let’s Say Goodnight by Bill Cotter

Another new and clever book we added to Ronia’s library is Don’t Push the Button. We bought the good night version. It’s interactive and walks through all the steps to get ready for bed. She isn’t sure how to “turn of the light” and things just yet, but I think when she gets a little older this one will be a go-to at bedtime.

3. Peek -a- Bruce by Ryan T Higgins

Peek -a- Bruce is a book that goes with Mother Bruce, the story of a large bear who gets stuck being the parent of four baby ducklings. He keeps trying to get rid of them, but they think he’s their mother. He even goes south with them at one point. Anyway, the Peek -a- Bruce book is in addition to that original story. Both are worth the buy.

4. Your Baby’s First Word Will be Dada by Jimmy Fallon

One of my gifts to Colton on Father’s Day this year was the Dada book by Jimmy Fallon. It felt appropriate for the occasion and we both know Ronia’s first official word will be Dada. She’s obsessed with him.

5. Custom Family Picture Book

We have a lot of family we don’t see often enough, so a few months ago my sister in law suggested I have a photo book made to help Ronia remember names and faces. She absolutely loves her book. We put her face on the front and she just beams when we get it out. She gets excited to see everyone’s faces. If you are looking for a more customized book for your family or for a gift, this is an excellent idea.

6. You’re My Little Bookworm by Natalie Marshall

You’re My Little Bookworm was an impulse Target purchase. I mean, there’s a bookworm on the front. I had to. This book is filled with positive affirmations, which I think is so sweet. It may be my favorite in the list of 8 Books for your 8 Month Old.

7. Miss Maple’s Seeds by Eliza Wheeler

Miss Maple’s Seeds is all about a lady who finds lost seeds and helps teach them how to grow strong. There are all these steps in teaching the seeds and then she sends them off to be planted. She encourages the seeds to remember that even the tallest of trees came from the smallest of seeds. What an excellent reminder!

8. Baby’s Very First Noisy Book Farm

We got this noisy farm book as a gift, and Ronia loves it. She is amazed by the sounds coming out of the book and just stares at it and turns the book around trying to figure out where the noise comes from. We’ve been working on her animal noises, so this book is a great help.
